I have an idea…

I’m supposed to be working on some layouts, but I’m going to do something else tonight instead. I found this book while I was putting some things together for a friend’s grandson. I’m going to alter it. I’m not sure how just yet. Stay tuned.

Ready!

I cleaned out one of my Paper Takers today. I can’t believe how much cardstock I had in that one. But now it’s ready to be refilled. Only four more days until we leave!

I also received confirmation from GASC that I will be working a volunteer shift in the education center. That means that, in addition to the 5 classes for which I’m registered, I will get to be in at least one other class while helping the instructor. And it’s up to the instructor’s discretion to give me a kit from the class. Woohoo!

Mother’s Day, Mother’s Day

It’s not like any other day.

I received this fantastic piece of artwork from my offspring. He certainly is a chip off the old block.

Jouni got me some roses. He let Reino choose the color. I guess my kid knows my fascination with distressing because the roses are light pink with dark pink tips. I wonder if Tim Holtz makes that color? 😉

They also let me sleep until 10!

Farewell, old friend

I bought this wonderful eyelet setter last summer, the Instant Setter. It was really nice to use because I just had to change tips to punch holes and to set the eyelets. There was only one problem. Mulder didn’t like it. He meows when anyone sneezes! I swear that cat does nothing but complain. The Instant Setter isn’t exactly quiet and he would make this loud meow/howl mixture every time I used it. On the late nights when I was really inspired and was punching and setting a lot, I would have to lock him up or he’d wake the men. I never use it so I’ve decided to sell it. Farewell, old friend.

Huuto

I’ve been cleaning out all the spaces that are crammed full of stuff we aren’t using. It started with Reino’s old clothes. And then I started thinking about other things that aren’t being used. I listed a bunch of scrapbook paper and it sold! That inspired me to sort through more of it. I found more, more, MORE! Today I listed the very last of what I have to sell. I still have a lot of paper, but it’s stuff I’ll use. I might decide later to sell some of it, but it won’t be until I come back from Texas.

And then I remembered my cross stitch phase. I bought a lot of kits and supplies, but never used them. I found those and listed them. The auctions are still in progress, but it looks like I’m going to be able to sell them all. I have no idea how much I paid. I’m just happy to be clearing out the space.

It worked!

Delilah is doing much better. She’s still old and probably won’t be with us much longer, but at least she feels better and is eating.

We’ve been really worried about her care while we’re in the States. My friend agreed to come over once a day to feed them, but Jouni’s mom offered to come and stay so that Delilah will have food any time she wants it. Delilah likes to eat a little then come back for more. And more and more. She’s a funny little thing. It’s a good thing her Mummi loves her so much.

Our poor kitty is sick. We took her to the doctor this morning and her kidneys are failing. She’s going through some fluid therapy to see if we can get her feeling better. She was there for about 8 hours today. She looked a lot better when Jouni brought her home this evening. Here she is after her exam.

Cinco de Mayo

Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo, the 5th of May. You can find out more about elsewhere. To celebrate, we invited a friend over and I made layered (because I’m lazy) chicken enchiladas and guacamole. Since I’m a real blogger now, I took pictures of the entire process! 😀
