Layout: Turning 6

I worked on this all day! I had it almost completed but I wasn’t happy with it. I chose a different set of papers and started over. I’m happier, but might add something to it or change the title. It doesn’t really POP like I wanted it to. I’ll definitely take a better picture of it. There is a note to Reino attached to the yellowish design sticking out of the lower right corner. All products are Basic Grey’s Skate Shoppe.

Juice!

I made juice concentrate from the white and red currants that grow in our yard.

It’s some tastey stuff!

Back to school

Last week was really busy. We had Reino’s birthday on Tuesday and then his party on Saturday. I baked a lot and cleaned a little. 😆 Jouni’s parents were here and we went out to eat a couple of times. I cooked a couple of dishes ahead of time and we ate that over the weekend. I was so exhausted from the party that I didn’t want to cook. It was nice to have things prepared in advance. I’ll share pictures from the party as soon as I get them from Jouni.

I went back to school today. I only had one class, which was a nice way to ease back into it. Tomorrow is my horrible, long day. 8:15 to 3:45. 😯 I’m glad I only have one of those each week. It was great to see my old friends, though. Wish me a great semester!

A new notebook

Thanks to rachelrazzle for this challenge. Her directions were to

Use a large print pp
Use two squares
Use a tag
add a coordinating pp
add a flower
add ribbon
Distress something above (with ink, sanding, paint, etc)

This is what I did.

Papers are from My Mind’s Eye. Flower is from Prima. The paper under the page pebbles are from MME, with the brown square meeting the challenge of a coordinating paper. Page pebbles are from Making Memories. The back is covered with the second paper.

The Adventure of a Lifetime

Reino started Kindergarten today. I’m so excited for him. He’s so ready for this and it’s finally here. I wasn’t sad this morning when I dropped him off. I’m just excited about the things he’s going to learn that will help him to become the man he will be. Last night when we were lying in his bed, he told me to wake him up by moving him and saying his name. 🙂

Before I woke him up, I had to take this picture.

Surly at breakfast. He’s just like me in the morning.

LO: The Gate

My friend Pam came over today and we cropped for a few hours. I only got one layout done, but she managed to do 5! Here’s mine. It’s the entrance to the old town in Tallinn.

The Gate

This is the first of several I have planned for pictures from our trip to Tallinn in October, 2006.

You don’t see THAT every day!

I was in Helsinki today to meet a friend who is moving back to the U.S. Helsinki is always interesting, but especially so in the summer.

But oddest of all was this. Sure, I’ve seen these around but I’ve never seen anyone actually use one.
