I swear this is the last one! This is my notebook for the fall semester. I bought a punch to make all of the tiny leaves. Kitty is completely pieced and the tree was cut by hand. What do you think?
Hello AWC!
This is a notebook I altered to use when I’m at AWC meetings and to record anything else to do with the club. I borrowed heavily from a picture of a Hello Kitty Hello USA calendar. Everything was cut by hand. The white stars are drawn on the blue background with an Inkssentials opaque pen in white then covered in Glossy Accents to make them pop and shine. The colored dots are different colors of Stickles. The title is printed with American Typewriter font.
Hello, Kitty! thesis notebook
I wanted to alter a notebook, but I didn’t have any particular theme in mind. I got this Hello Kitty princess Sizzix die in Texas this summer, but hadn’t used it yet. I started layering the different colors and got really attached to it. I used Icicle Stickles and Glossy Accents on the crown. Jouni drew the laptop for me and I colored it with a silver pen (Creating Memories). I downloaded the Hello Kitty Angel Font from deviantART. The flower brads are probably from Memory Makers. The border is made with the Fiskars Threading Water punch and I lined the inside with white paper to show through the holes. It’s simple, yet complicated. I’m very happy with it overall.
The notebook will be for my thesis notes. I’ll be starting that in October and now I have a cute notebook ready to see me through the process.
You Make Me Happy
This is an album that I started at GASC 2008 in a class taught by Staci Etheridge. The pictures are from summer 2009 in Texas and represents some of the things that make Reino happy.
The album and papers are all from Cosmo Cricket. The paper is the Get Happy collection. The letters in the album spell H-A-P-P-Y.
GASC 2009
I was at the Great American Scrapbook Convention Wednesday-Saturday this week. Here are the two large projects I managed to finish. The first is from a class on doodling with stencils.
The second is from a class on journaling taught by Crystal Jeffrey Rieger, my creativity hero.
I also finished a lot of cards, but I’m too lazy to upload those now.

It’s been a while since I’ve made a cake for anyone. This was made for my friend’s niece’s 16th birthday.
I also made a cookie tower of cocoa crinkles.

Snickerdoodles!
I just made my first ever Snickerdoodles. I’m a chocolate lover myself, but Reino had these when we were visiting a friend and he really liked them. I thought I’d give them a try and see if he likes mine. I had one and it was really good. Jouni approves, too.
Now I just have to make sure they survive until he gets home from school.

I’ve been working on an afghan that I started in 2005. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to finish it because the yarn manufacturer no longer makes that color. I’ve been trying to beg, borrow and steal any that was available. Well, now I don’t have to. I was digging in my stash looking for something else when I stumbled upon three skeins of the yarn in question! I couldn’t believe it. I’m sure they could hear my whoops of joy at the North Pole. I’d love to finish this blanket before Christmas, but we’ll see how it goes. School first, you know.

The plum butter and plum jam are finally in jars. I’m really pleased with both. Have a look.
The plum and vanilla jam recipe was found here.
The plum butter was an adaptation of a recipe I have for making apple butter in the crockpot. I had forgotten that the crockpot method hasn’t worked for me and I had to transfer the operation to the oven. It still turned out fantastic.
The jars are from Sandy. She sent some delicious peaches a few years ago and I’ve beeh hanging on to the jars. Thanks, Sandy!
